Voting Information

Make your voice heard in the Nov. 4 election.

Vote early by absentee ballot, or vote in person on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The referendum is a special election, meaning it is not held in conjunction with a state primary or general election. This means that voters will not vote at their traditional polling place—instead, there are three combined polling locations that will serve several precincts each. Keep this in mind, and make sure you know where to go on Election Day!

Additionally, if you live in one of the townships listed below, you will not be automatically mailed a ballot for the upcoming bond referendum like you are for state elections. Voters in these townships have the option to vote in person at their respective polling place on Election Day or request a standard absentee ballot.

  • Boy Lake Township

  • Pine Lake Township

  • Birch Lake Township

  • Akeley Township

  • Steamboat Township

  • Thorpe Township

  • White Oak Township

    • Request an absentee ballot online (starting Sept. 1) or in-person at the Cass County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, even if you live in Hubbard County.

      • Weekdays, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at:

      • Cass County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office: 2nd Floor, 303 Minnesota Ave W., Walker, MN 56484

    • Once you receive your ballot in the mail, you can complete and return it right away. You don’t have to wait until Election Day.

    • Return completed ballots by 5:00 p.m. on Election Day (Nov. 4).
